VTN Digital TV Capital Campaign
June, 2006 – February 2009

Planned, implemented and managed a capital campaign, from concept through completion, to raise funds for VTN to make the federally mandated transition from analog to digital broadcasting. Raised 1.4 million dollars without interrupting VTN’s ongoing donor-driven revenue stream necessary for day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
Worked closely with all network and minstry leadership to develop workflow procedures, ensure consistency in messaging, and implement strategies to maximize fundraising opportunities.

Vetted and hired vendors for printing, fulfillment, and DVD duplication.

Worked with ad agency to create artwork for print publications such as brochures, notecards and letterhead. Links to examples:

Developed content for all solicitation materials including: direct mail, campaign website, TV programs and weekly video appeals and updates.

Worked with web designer to create and manage a website dedicated to the project.

Personally handled all donor relations including: direct mail appeals, thank-you letters, holiday cards, donor gifts and naming opportunities.


Met weekly with engineering staff to assess progress, and traveled to tower/transmitter sites to document progress for weekly video updates.

Scheduled airings of weekly progress reports across the network and inside all of VTN’s flagship programs to maximize donor cultivation opportunities and keep current donors up to date.

Wrote and distributed press releases state-wide informing viewers of VTN’s expanded viewing opportunities after the transition.
